Duane Robert Milton
June 16, 1927 - June 2, 2017
Duane Robert Milton, son of Henry and Louise (Zehnder) Milton was born June 16, 1927, at the family farm near Spencer, Iowa. His childhood years were spent in the Lake Center, Langdon area.

Duane started farming at 17 years of age and retired at 65. Duane was a pioneer in the Ridge Till style of farming and sold Buffalo Till farm equipment. He also was a Golden Harvest seed corn dealer. He had great interest in new and innovative ways of farming. He continued to be involved in farming with Lanny and Nancy Hanson for many more years after retirement. He loved farming and was proud when their farm became a Century Farm in 2014.

Duane married the love of his life and farming partner Arlene Jenny Reeverts on February 22, 1947, in Dickens, Iowa. They were married 70 years and farmed in the area his entire life. There were many years of milk cows, feeder cattle and hogs in addition to farming.

During his lifetime he enjoyed dancing, horseback riding, hunting and being involved in his community. He belonged to many organizations and served many years in various capacities at the Clay County Fair.Duane and Arlene enjoyed traveling and spending time at their cottage on East Lake Okoboji and at Mesa, Arizona. He was a true snowbird for many years and cherished friendships he made in Arizona.

Duane and Arlene were members of the Langdon United Methodist Church.

Duane and Arlene moved to Las Vegas in 2016 to be near family. He passed away on Friday, June 2, 2017, in Las Vegas, Nevada at the age of 89. He was a loving husband, amazing father and loyal friend.

He was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Louise Milton, brother-in-law Everett Sorenson and nephew Douglas Sorenson.

Left to cherish his memory are wife Arlene, daughter Linda and grandsons Brian (Kristen) and Gregory Carter all of Las Vegas, Nevada. He is also survived by his sister Elaine (Milton) Sorenson, niece Janet Johnson, nephews Ervin and Dan Sorenson. Duane was blessed to have many more relatives and friends that will miss him.
