“to all who mourn the passing of this gentle man. May God give you comfort in happy memories. I met Mr. Schmidt in late 1970's when I worked at St. Luke's. I remember he greeted everyone with his big smile and he kept people joyful. He beamed with love and pride when he spoke of his family. God bless the memory of Rven Schmidt. “Arvin was always kind to me and helped me grow into the man I am today. His work in the Iowa Boy's State program, put on by the VFW, helped me and many other young men become proud and active citizens of our state and country. His kind face and happy demeanor was always loved in church, and he felt to me, as another Grandfather figure in my life. I will miss him and send my prayers. He was an example of godly living and will be welcomed in heaven with fanfare befitting such a great man.”
