Betty Lou Warren, the daughter of Lyle and Lorene (Crouch) King, was born near Royal, IA, where she was raised and attended country school before the family moved to Everly where she finished her schooling, graduating in 1957.

On October 31, 1958, Betty married Clifford Warren in Jackson, MN. Following their marriage, the couple lived in Beresford, SD, before moving to Spencer. Betty enjoyed staying at home and raising her family. She liked playing cards, sewing, baking and fishing in her younger years. She was a very social person at the Sunset Apartments where she lived, and enjoyed watching Twins baseball. She was a member of Ninth Street Baptist Church, V.F.W. and the American Legion Auxiliary.
