Angela Ellen Lashbrook, daughter of Connie (Fitzloff) Sams, was born January 5, 1965, in Spencer, Iowa. After graduating from Albert City-Truesdale High School in 1983, she spent some time in Arizona. Angie received her associate of science degree in retail marketing management from Iowa Lakes Community College in 1997. She went on to receive her bachelor's degree in human resource management from Briar Cliff University.

Angie worked in various positions over the years including Northwest Bank, Lakes Regional Healthcare, Mercy Medical Center, and Great Lakes Airlines. She was currently employed at Polaris of Spirit Lake and Hy-Vee in Spencer.

Whether hanging out or traveling, Angie treasured every minute with her best friend, Liz. Angie’s smile and laughter lit up the room wherever she went.  She loved to spend time with family and friends. In her free time, she enjoyed reading, movies, and was always ready for an adventure. Angie’s nieces and nephews held a very special part of her heart.

Angie passed away at her apartment on Thursday, February 21, 2019, at fifty-four years of age.  Angie is preceded in death by her grandparents, John and Alma Fitzloff; mother, Connie Sams. Her siblings left to cherish her memory:  Lisa Clark & her husband, Tom, of Spencer, Iowa; Matt Sams & his wife, Michelle, of San Tan Valley, AZ; nieces: Stephanie, Cassidy, Carissa; nephews: Matthew, Robert, Jonathan, Dorian, Konner; other relatives and many dear friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held 11:00 A.M., Saturday, June 15th at the First Christian Church in Spencer.

A lunch and time of fellowship will be held immediately following the services at the church.

“Lisa, Matt, and family; I am so sorry to know that you have lost the earthly contact with your sister, aunt, niece. I loved going through Angie’s line at HyVee. At first she didn’t know me, but she saw my name, recognized it, and asked if I’d taught with Lisa. She was so pleasant and so much fun. I’m sorry too, for the timing of her death.....being so close to Steph’s wedding. May our good Lord wrap His arms around all of you, and hug you through this. Love to you all. 😞😥❤️🙏”
