Memorials to the Alzheimer’s Association in memory of Ken (Sam) Heimgartner.  While Alzheimer's took Sam from us too early, his memory will live on in those of us he helped, coached, mentored, trained and loved.  Donations can also be made online

A scholarship fund, started in memory of Marsha Heimgartner.

Marsha taught in the Spencer community schools for 20 years, having also taught previously at other locations including West Point. In lieu of flowers, we would like this fund in honor of her life as an educator and benefit a Spencer High School Senior pursuing higher education.

100% of this fund will be donated to the scholarship.  Donations can also be made by going online to gf.me/u/w8wuxp

“Jill, Mike, and family: Karen and I are so sorry about the passing of your mom and dad. It leaves a huge void in our lives as we thought so much of them as our best friends. They both had wonderful personalities, and we enjoyed the great times we had with them the past 25 pus years. I spent more time with Ken than with Marsha, especially playing golf and other activities in the American Legion. We pray that you have comfort knowing that the Lord has them with Him, and some day you will be reunited with them.”

“Dear Jill and family,
We were shocked to read that your dad passed away within a day of your mom. How difficult this must be for you! We met your parents during the construction of the new facility for FELC. We were new members and they were both so kind to work with us and make us feel welcome, sharing many laughs. Ken told us stories about his Highway Patrol days, as well as his competition pistol shooting, while putting up insulation and staining the ceiling boards. Your parents were great people and you will undoubtedly feel a tremendous void. What a comfort to know that they spent their first Christmas in heaven. Psalms 30:5 says "...weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning." We pray that in time, you can feel God's peace and joy that your parents bodies are healed and that they are together for all eternity. Tom and Mary Galik”

“It is with a heavy heart that the members of the Iowa Police Combat League learn of Sam's passing. Sam was a great competitor and a great man. He was a regular at just about every PPC tournament that we conducted. Sam served as our president for several years, and Marsha kept the statistics for us. The shooting sports has lost a great competitor and he will be greatly missed. Our sympathy to Jill (repetitive Powder Puff winner) and the rest of the family.”
