“Joe, it’s a sad time right now. I lost my husband, Mike, recently. Joe, I know how deeply Elaine loved her whole family. She loved you deeply. I remember having so many good times in the army with Elaine. My favorite memory is her roaring with laughter at a joke we played on Kathy, and almost rolling out of her bunk bed. Kathy and I will sure miss her.”

“Anne and I were shocked to hear the passing of Elaine. Elaine was like a combination big sister and mother to Anne and our son Jamie when we lived in their basement apartment. This is where our friendship started. We both want to express our deepest sympathies to Joe, Tammy, Molly and Teresa. We send our thoughts and prayers to you all as well as the rest of your families and friends. To my veteran sister, I wish you Godspeed. I know our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, has a barracks for you and our other military brothers and sisters. I will see you one day...be at parade rest for your life eternal thereafter.”
