Marcia was born on August 18, 1937, in the Dexter, IA hospital, to Clarence LeRoy Fritz and Evelyn Elizabeth (Cox) Fritz.  They resided on the Fritz Farm south of Menlo, IA.  Marcia was baptized as an infant in the Menlo Methodist Church. Then on June 19, 1955 she joined Hebron Methodist Church.       In 1945 they moved to a farm east of Greenfield, IA, where Marcia attended country school through the eighth grade.  Later graduating from Greenfield High School. From 1955-1957 she attended Iowa State Teachers College (now known as UNI).       Her first teaching job took her to Harlan and Jamaica, IA where she taught fourth grade for a year.  She then moved to Odebolt, IA and taught there until 1965.      Some of her friends in Odebolt, introduced her to Donald Lamaak.

On August 10, 1963, she married the love of her life at Hebron Methodist Church near Greenfield, IA.  They began farming in 1964 while Marcia continued teaching until 1965 and became a stay at home Mom. She enjoyed taking care of her family, helping on the farm, gardening and canning.       On January 29, 1967, Marcia became a Member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Odebolt, IA. She taught Sunday School for many years and enjoyed helping teach bible school as well as helping with their craft projects.  While her three girls were in 4-H she also assisted with leading the Richland Robins 4-H club.       Marcia enjoyed all kinds of crafts especially cross stitch, crocheting & quilting.  She was often seen making small quilts or crocheted afghans to give to new babies in the family and friends.

Donald and Marcia retired in 1992 and moved off the farm that they raised their family on, and purchased an acreage south of Early, IA.  They enjoyed gardening, lawn work and their family get-togethers.   In 2013 when the acreage became too much work, they moved to Everly to be closer to their daughter.  In 2013 they joined Christ The King Lutheran Church in Spencer, IA.

She was preceded in death by Donald, her husband of 53 years, as well as her parents, LeRoy & Evelyn Fritz; her brother,  Dean Fritz;   her in-laws, John & Carrie Lamaak; her brothers-in-law: Marvin Lamaak, Cecil Lamaak and John and Audrey Lamaak and her sisters-in-law Violet Werkmeister and Ruby (Wesley) Paulson
