“To all of Mary's family,
We have known the Petersen and Bobolz families our whole lives, and we share so many memories. Reading the previously written condolences, there is not much more that can be said to describe this wonderful woman with a beautiful heart. She had the heart of Jesus and showed it in SO MANY WAYS. We were on the receiving end of her fabulous baking skills many times. Wish I'd taken her up on the offer to teach me how to make her cinnamon rolls. She had a fun sense of humor, and a down-home, common sense approach to life that could be nothing less than totally respected and admired by those whose lives she touched. Mary will be truly missed, and we will be sad for that loss in our lives, but we know that she is praising her Lord and Savior and we celebrate with her, a good and faithful servant. “Mary and I served on an advisory board for Blue Cross-Blue Shield in Sioux City together. We carpooled to the quarterly meetings and had such a good time. I worked at Spencer Hospital while she was at Hartley Hospital. My parents grew up in the MayCity -Hartley area so we knew a lot of the same people. She was a peach! We even kept in touch abut after our committee job was over. Sending my sympathy. . .”

“Mary was the true definition of an "earth angel"! One of the nicest people I've ever met!! I remember once she was baking breads and cookies for some of the people in Hartley. Someone's family member had passed. Someone else had been sick etc.... I mentioned how much work it was. And her response was. "Well, they've always been good to me and I don't want to be naked when I get to heaven!" I responded "Naked?" And she explained "One is cloaked by their good deeds when one gets to heaven and I don't want to be naked!" I replied..."Me either!!!" And we giggled and laughed. I m sure Mary is very, very well cloaked by all the kindness she showed others while here on earth!!

“Aunt Mary Ann as I knew her was very kind to my family when we would visit from Toledo, and later to my wife and children when we visited. Very hospitable, she really loved and cared for her family. We will miss you, but we have faith that you are in a much better place now. God Bless the Petersen and Bobolz families with Aunt Mary Ann’s passing. John 3:16”

“My most recent memory of Mary was our brief conversations as I delivered her meal on occasion. We talked of current happenings or she would inquire about my life. A few times we talked about when she had volunteered at the elementary for another teacher on our staff and her years at CMHC. She was a gracious lady and pleasant to visit with. She brightened my day and I hope I brightened hers with the delivery.”

“RIP dear Aunt Mary Ann. She was such a kind and caring person. Always so interested in all that was going on in our lives and our children’s lives. Not bad at making angel food cake either! (The cousins will know what I mean.) We will miss her terribly! Say hello to all those at the gates of heaven that were there welcoming you in with open arms. Now all the brothers and little sis are back together. Love ❤️ you all!!!”

“Sending my sympathy and prayers to the entire family on the death of your mother and grandmother. Heard so many stories about your mother through the years from Roger, but think I only met her once and that was when Roger died. I would have come to her services but notice they are private so will just pause a moment to remember at that time.
