Robert Charles Donahoo, the son of Robert Frank and Leona (Niebuhr) Donahoo, was born on March 24, 1937 in Omaha, NE. Robert was raised and attended Brook Consolidated School where he graduated and then went to Buena Vista College for 2 years.

On May 24, 1958, Robert married Wanda Nothwehr at St. John’s Church in Rural Peterson. He farmed in the Peterson area his whole life. Robert loved caring for the farm and protecting the land. He was an active 50-year member and Past Master of the Masonic Lodge; he was also an active 50-year member of Eastern Star. He was a 4-H leader, was on the school and church boards, a soil conservation officer, and on the BV Extension Council.

He enjoyed traveling with Wanda. Over the years, they made trips to Hawaii, Alaska, San Diego, and many other destinations.  He also enjoyed fishing, but most of all he loved to spend time with family.

Robert passed away on Tuesday, August 11, 2020, at Cherokee Specialty Care in Cherokee at the age of 83.  Family preceding Robert in death include his son Robert Arthur, his parents, and brother Charles.

“Wanda, was so sorry to learn of Bob's passing. You two occupy a vivid memory of my very young years when we lived south of the Brooke school. I remember a community picnic where the kids ran crazy and the cool high schooler's grouped together. I loved hanging in the fringes and watching you older kids listen to your 50's music ( blasting out a car radio) and enjoying your cokes. I for some reason remember best you and Bob and your very cool vibes. Maybe because Bob could down a whole bottle of soda in one shot. I remember your laughter and the good times. When I want to revisit the 50's I hold that memory dear. Thankful we could live and grow up in such a wonderful era! Please accept my sincere sympathy, sending you a hug!”
