Alice Louise Eldridge, the daughter of Oatha and Eva (Deese) Long, was born December 16, 1929 in Quinter, KS. Her childhood years were spent in Kansas, where she received her education graduating from Quinter High School. After high school, she continued her education at State Teacher’s College in McPherson, KS receiving her associates degree in education. She later moved to Payette, ID and continued her education for nursing.
Alice married C. Ray Eldridge on April 29, 1951 in Weiser, Idaho. After their marriage they moved to Marble Mount, Washington and raised their family until 1971. They then moved to Kamiah, ID until their retirement in 1996. After retirement they moved to Dickens Ia to be closer to their children and grandchildren.
Alice was always active in her community. She was a talented quilter, seamstress, and loved to crochet. She enjoyed dancing, singing, playing guitar and most of all she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She passed away peacefully at her home in Spencer, Iowa on Monday, August 13, 2018 at the age of 88. Alice was preceded in death by her parents; 4 sisters; 2 brothers; 1 great grandchild, Effie Claire Eldridge; and her husband, Ray in 1998.
Left to cherish her memory are her two children: Raejean Noah and her husband, John of Terril, IA and Jim Eldridge of Spencer, IA; her grandchildren: Raeonna Sikora (Mark) of Ruthven, IA; Drew Eldridge (Leaha) of Spencer, IA; Brayden Eldridge (Christy) Dickens, IA; Katie Noah of Waterloo, IA; Becky Noah Terril, IA; 8 great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and many friends.
