Alice Marie Hanson, the daughter of Rudolph and Anna Torkelson Lempke, was born June 25, 1918 in Fort Dodge, Iowa. Her childhood years were spent in Ringsted, where she received her education, graduating from Ringsted High School.
Alice married Ordeen Hanson on December 7, 1947 in Ringsted, Iowa. Following their marriage, they continued to live on a farm near Ringsted, until moving to Walnut Grove, MN where they continued to farm. After their retirement, they moved to Spencer, Iowa in 1975, where they made their home. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Spencer, where she was active with the Ruth Circle. She also was active in the Senior Center in Spencer, where she did volunteer work. Alice enjoyed her hobbies in her free time including: crochet, working in flower gardens, playing cards and bingo.
Alice passed away at her home in Spencer, Iowa on Thursday, November 9, 2006 at the age of 88. She was preceded in death by her parents: Rudolph and Anna Torkelson Lempke; her husband, Ordeen Hanson and two brother-in-law's, Albert Speck and Dale Douglas.
She is survived by three sisters: Elenor Speck of Spencer, Mabel and her husband, Jordan Knudson of Spirit Lake, IA and Viola Douglas of Fenton, IA; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
SERVICES
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, November 14, 2006, at the Warner Chapel in Spencer.

Pastor Tom Dettmer will officiate.
