Alice Marie Pack, the daughter of Theodore and Mary (Elliott) Johannsen was born September 11, 1924, in Brewster, Minnesota. Her childhood years were spent on a farm in the Paullina, Iowa, area where she attended school and graduated from Gaza High School.
Alice married Charles on October 6, 1945 in Sioux City, IA. They lived in Kentucky and Alabama before spending the last 60 plus years in Spencer, Iowa. She worked as a mother, homemaker, and secretary for Pack’s Radio & TV.
Alice enjoyed cooking, gardening, painting wood carvings, bird watching, needlework, reading books to children, crossword puzzles, camping and fishing with her husband.
Alice passed away on Thursday, November 28, 2019, at Longhouse Residence at the age of 95. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband’ two brothers, Donald and Elmer; two sisters, Florence Sprouse and Edna Stief; and one nephew, Ron Johannsen.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Charlotte Nissen of Spencer, IA; three grandchildren: Becky Nissen, Tim (Heather) Nissen and Chris (Julie) Nissen all of Spencer, IA; six great-grandchildren: Cody, Jenna, Grace, Nathan, Katelyn, and Ashlyn; great-great-grandchildren, Huxley and Charles; and others.
