Alice Mae Weisbrod, the daughter of Charles and Lulu (Canfield) Norris, was born on April 11, 1909 in Modena, MO. Her childhood years were spent on a farm near Modena, MO, where she received her education up to the tenth grade. She continued her high school studies in Iowa, graduating in Marathon, IA as valedictorian of her class.
Alice married Forrest Weisbrod on July 20, 1927 in Des Moines, Iowa. Following their marriage, they lived on the farm near Rossie, Iowa until moving into Spencer, where Alice was an active member of the United Pentecostal Church, serving as treasurer and pianist for many years. She and Forrest moved to St. Paul, MN for a few years until retirement. They spent many happy years in retirement in Fort Smith, AR until the time of Forrest's death in 1987. Alice remained there until 1994, when she moved back to Spencer. She had lived at the Beehive where she was very close to the other residents and employees. Alice also lived at the Northshire Residence before moving to Coralville to be closer to her daughter, Pat.
Alice passed away at the Windmill Manor Nursing Home in Coralville, IA on Thursday, March 13, 2008 at the age of 98. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Forrest; two children, Dean and Stanley; six brothers and one sister.
Alice is survived by two sons: Wendell and wife, Shirley of Littleton, CO and Dave and his wife, Barbara of Cincinnati, OH; her daughter, Pat Mincer of Riverside, IA; ten grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; many great great grandchildren; two brothers: Robert and his wife, Jeanne Norris of St. Paul, MN and Ralph and his wife, Faye Norris of Newton, IA; a sister-in-law, Esther Norris of Hudson, WI and many friends. Alice lived her life dedicated to her Lord, her family and church and will be missed by so many.
SERVICES
Funeral services will be at 10:30a.m., Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at the Faith Pentecostal Church in Spencer.
