Allen Harry Ott

Allen Harry Ott, son of Harry and Lulu Scharnberg Ott, was born July 8, 1913 in Everly, Iowa. His childhood years were spent in Everly. Allen married Arleen Schroeder on April 3, 1937 in Davenport, Iowa. They lived in Davenport, where he worked at the Rock Island Arsenal as a tool and die maker during WWII. In 1946, they moved to northwest Iowa, where he farmed in the communities of Everly and Milford, before moving to Spencer. He was an active member of Bethany Lutheran Church. Allen was active with the Lion's Club, Golden K Kiwanis and commissioner for the Clay County Conservation Board. In his spare time, he enjoyed golfing, bowling and fishing. Allen passed away at St. Luke Lutheran Home in Spencer, Iowa on Tuesday, April 10, 2007 at the age of 93. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers: Emmert, Ervin and Waldo; and an infant grandson. He is survived by his wife, Arleen of Spencer; son, Gaylon (Sue) of Mesa, AZ; two daughters: Marcia (David) Duncan of Alexis, IL and Sandra (Don) Fisk of Galesburg, IL; 5 grandchildren; 5 great grandsons; 2 step grandsons; 5 step great-grandchildren; sister, Thora Grover; sister-in-law, Anna Ott; many relatives and friends.
SERVICES
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Saturday, April 14, 2007 at Bethany Lutheran Church.
