Alvin A. Johnson

Alvin Arthur Johnson, was born on November 5, 1927, to Art and Etta Miller Johnson. Al was baptized into the Catholic faith at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He attended Lake Center School participating in sports and vocal music, graduating in 1946 at the age of 18. After graduating he worked for various businesses until opening his own business in 1963, Johnson Supply Company where he was active in the business until 1998. Al was a member of the Eagles Club, Moose Lodge and the Antique Car Club of Iowa. He had a passion for his antique cars and tractors for many years and enjoyed driving them in various parades and weddings. Al was united in marriage to Ruth Marie Schany on June 5, 1950. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Robert Alvin Johnson; one brother, Donald Johnson; twin sisters: Anna Thompson and Ina Goff. Al is survived by his wife, Ruth; 2 sons: Joseph Johnson of Spencer and Bradford Johnson and his wife, Sara of Spencer; 2 daughters: Rochelle O'Hara and her husband, Robert of Spencer and Julie Kloewer of Spencer; 8 grandchildren; one sister, Bonita Speight of Spencer; other relatives and many friends.
SERVICES
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Spencer.

VISITATION
Will begin at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday at the Warner Funeral Home in Spencer. Catholic Vigil service will be held at 5:30 P.M. and the family will be present from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M.
