Alvin 'Carl' Brechler

April 10, 1939 — February 21, 2016

Alvin "Carl" Brechler, the son of Alvin and Evelyn (Davis) Brechler was born on April 10, 1939 in Curlew, IA. His childhood years were spent in the Webb, IA area where he attended school and graduated from Gillett Grove High School in 1957. Carl married Donna Schafer in 1960 and to this union 2 daughters were born, Angela and Kris. He later married Barbara Heisler on May 8, 2004 at Community Methodist Church in Gillett Grove, IA. He worked for Spencer Packing Plant and operated his own tree trimming service. He then worked for First Co-Op in Marathon, IA for over 30 years. Carl enjoyed wood working, restoring wood furniture, motorcycling, and vegetable and flower gardening. Carl was a volunteer EMT in Webb, a member and trustee of Community Methodist Church and taught Sunday School. Carl passed away on Sunday, February 21, 2016 at Spencer Hospital in Spencer, IA, at the age of 76. He was preceded in death by his parents. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Barbara of Webb; 2 daughters: Angela (Jay) Chapman of Milford, IA and Kris (Mike) Ford of Camdenton, MO; 5 grandchildren: Brittney, Dylan, Lexi, Keegan, and Eden; 2 great-grandchildren: Caden and Kamryn; other relatives and many friends.
SERVICES
Funeral services will take place 10:30 A.M., Thursday, February 25, at the Warner Chapel in Spencer.
