Ann Parsons Tuttle, 93, quietly passed away in Hartley on April 14 after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer 's disease. The daughter of Carl and Adelia Parsons, Ann grew up in Spirit Lake, along with her brothers Carl Jr., John, Rod and Carlisle. After high school she moved to Spencer, where she married Frank Tuttle in 1942.
Ann was a highly creative and artistic woman; a lifelong learner. She taught art classes for the YMCA and at her "Decorator's Workshop" in downtown Spencer. She always had many creative projects going at once; sewing, knitting, crocheting, ceramics, jewelry making, and even building furniture. Ann loved to play bridge and was an avid crossword puzzle fan. She was on a bowling league at Spencer Bowl for many years. Always active, at age 81 Ann entered a"Race for the Cure" and won first place in her age category, finishing the 5K race in 51 minutes. Ann was an intelligent and independent woman with a gentle, kind nature and a positive outlook. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her husband Frank, of Milford, and by their children John Tuttle, Marcia (Rich) Ryon, Mary Tuttle, Mark (Cathy) Tuttle and Brad (Chan) Tuttle; her grandchildren Amy (David) Gould, Adam, Emily, Jessy, Kari, Mike and Joe Tuttle, and great grandchildren Lily and Opal Gould.
A memorial fund has been established at the Farmer's Trust and Savings Bank in Spencer. the funds will be given to the Spirit Lake High School to be used for their art activities.
SERVICES
Private Family Graveside Services for Ann of Hartley formerly of Spirit Lake and Spencer, will be held in Spencer at the Riverside Cemetery in Spencer.
