Ann Therese Kirby

January 4, 1929 — April 7, 2015

Ann Therese Kirby was born on January 4, 1929 in Emmetsburg, IA to Phillip and Corneil (Berry) Kirby. She lived her growing-up years in the Emmetsburg and Algona, IA areas and moved to Spencer, IA for high School. Therese retired from Northwestern Bell/Century Link after more than 30 years as a Telephone Operator in Spencer. Therese was a lifetime member of the local chapter of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority in Spencer where she held all the officer positions throughout her years of membership. Therese was also a lifetime member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Spencer. She enjoyed knitting and making sequined Christmas tree skirts and table cloths and giving them away. Therese was passed away on April 7, 2015 at St. Luke Lutheran Home in Spencer, at the age of 86. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Tom. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Evelyn Kirby of Foley, MN and several cousins in the Emmetsburg area. Donations can be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church or Spencer Hospital Hospice, in memory of Therese. Therese's family wishes to thank the staff of St. Luke's Lutheran Home for their care for her the years she was a resident there. Also, we wish to thank the Spencer Hospital Hospice for their compassion and care of her.
SERVICES
Funeral Services will take place 11:00 A.M., Friday, April 10, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Spencer.
