Anna Marie Schomburg was born September 19, 1926 in Chicago, Illinois, daughter of Soren and Anna (Moller) Eriksen. When she was a small child, her family moved to Spencer, Iowa. It was here she received her schooling, graduating from Spencer High School in 1944.
She married Robert Schomburg on August 5, 1945. Following their marriage they farmed in Dickinson County for 41 years, raising their two sons. In November 1989 they retired and moved to Spencer.
Anna Marie was a Lutheran all her life and was a member of First English Lutheran Church. She volunteered at the Spencer Hospital Auxiliary, St. Luke’s Home and was head of the Martha Guild for 17 years. She also assisted the Quilt Committee for 27 years, where many quilts were made for World Relief.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert, brothers: Agdrup and Frank and a sister, Grace Raveling.
Anna Marie is survived by her two sons, David and Peg Schomburg of Yuma, Arizona and Tim and Carol Schomburg of Rochester, Minnesota, Six grandchildren: Kristy (Schomburg) Richards, Tatum Schomburg, Beth (Schomburg) Young, Jill (Schomburg) Becker, Kyle Schomburg and Jena Schomburg; eleven great-grandchildren; her sister, Shirley (Wayne) Kress also survives.
