Anna May Schoeneman

April 30, 1938 — July 6, 2018

Sutherland

Anna May Schoeneman, the daughter of LeRoy and Gladys (Ferguson) Warren, was born April 30, 1938, near Benson, Minnesota.  Her family moved to the Dickens, Iowa, area when she was four years old.  She attended Spencer High School and later received her GED.

On February 9, 1957, Anna was united in marriage to Eugene Schoeneman in Milford, Iowa.  They lived on the East Coast during Eugene’s time in the Air Force.  After his discharge in 1961, they moved to Sutherland where they lived for a short time.  They then moved to Yankton, South Dakota, and later Pierre, South Dakota.  They returned to Sutherland following their retirement in 1995.  Anna thoroughly enjoyed working in various administrative positions at hospitals in Cherokee, Yankton, Pierre, and Sioux Valley Care Center in Primghar before her final retirement.  She enjoyed reading and crocheting, which she learned from a nurse friend in Pierre.  But mostly, she loved spending time with her husband, family and friends, and was very proud of her son.

Anna passed away at Pearl Valley Rehab and Nursing in Sutherland, Iowa, on Friday, July 6, 2018, at the age of 80.  She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Gene, on March 18, 2001.

She is survived by her son, Eugene Schoeneman, Jr. of Meridan, Mississippi; one grandson, Roberto Schoeneman; and other relatives and friends.
