Archie Andrews

Archie Miner Andrews, the son of Archie and Ella (Miner) Andrews was born June 4, 1947 in Spencer, Iowa. In his youth he worked on the family farm and attended Gillette Grove High School where he graduated in 1965. Archie received a 2-year technical degree from Iowa State University in Electrical Engineering in 1967. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War from July of 1969 through January of 1971. Upon his Honorable Discharge from the service, he returned to Iowa State to further his study in electrical engineering, receiving his Bachelor's degree in 1975. Archie worked for Stanley Consultants in Muscatine, Iowa from 1975 through 1984 retrofitting power plants with distributed control systems, which was his expertise. He moved to Olathe, Kansas in 1984 to work for Sega Inc., where he continued to be an expert in the field of power plant control systems until he retired in 2013. Archie passed away peacefully in hospice in Olathe on Saturday, March 11 just before midnight at the age of 69. He is preceded in death by his parents. He is succeeded by his sole son Joel Andrews of Overland Park, Kansas and two grandsons, George and Gabe Andrews.

Funeral services will take place 11:00 A.M., Thursday, March 16, at the Warner Chapel in Spencer.
