Ardis Alice Norma Buck

Ardie Alice Norma Buck, the daughter of Henry and Alma (Hummel) Volkert, was born February 3, 1923, in Cushing, Iowa. Her childhood years were spent in Cushing where she graduated from Cushing High School. Following her schooling Ardie went to work for the NW Bell Telephone Company in Storm Lake, Iowa. On March 22, 1958, Ardie was united in marriage to Lawrence Buck, in South Sioux City, NE. In 1971, Ardie and her family moved to Spencer where she continued to work for NW Bell. Ardie was an active member of First English Lutheran Church in Spencer, where she was a previous Sunday School Teacher. In her free time she enjoyed, sewing, gardening, fishing, and singing with her husband. Ardie will always be remembered for her sense of humor and how much she adored her family, especially her grandchildren. On Wednesday, August 23, 2006, Ardie passed away at the Spencer Hospital at the age of 83. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence; her parents, Henry and Alma; two brothers: Ferd and Walter Volkert; one sister, Wilma Volkert; and two stepsons, Randy and Donald Buck. She is survived by two daughters: Lori Cam, of Spencer, IA, Linda (Steve) Kladstrup, of Spencer, IA; one stepson, Steven Buck, of Rolfe, IA; one brother, Wesley Volkert, of Aurelia, IA; one sister, Florence Dreeszen, of Holstein, IA; four grandchildren: Tony, Bryan, Christian, and Katie Kladstrup; several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
