Arleen Lillian Ott

December 2, 1914 — August 4, 2012

Arleen Lillian Ott, daughter of Julius Wm. and Ella (Riessen) Schroeder, was born on December 2, 1914, on the family farm in Muscatine County, IA. She was raised and received her early education, attending grade school in Blue Grass, IA. She attended Central High School in Davenport, IA, graduating in 1932. After high school she worked at Willey's Music & Radio Store as a secretary. Arleen married Allen Ott on April 3, 1937 in Davenport, IA. She enjoyed being a homemaker and raising her family. In 1946, they moved to northwest, Iowa, where they farmed in the communities of Everly, Milford, and Spencer. She was an active member of Bethany Lutheran Church for 53 years. Arleen enjoyed Sioux Township Extension Unit, bowling, fishing, Cousins' 500 Card Club, being a hostess and playing cards at the Senior Center. She worked for Del's Garden Center and was a very creative lady that was interested in the latest trends. She loved watching birds and deer at the farm and her condo. Arleen passed away on August 4, 2012, at the age of 97. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Allen in 2007; one brother, James Schroeder and one infant grandson, Benjamin. Left to cherish her memory are her son, Gaylon (Sue) of Mesa, AZ; two daughters: Marcia Duncan (David) of Alexis, IL and Sandra Fisk (Don) of Galesburg, IL; 7 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 2 sisters-in-law: Thora Grover and Anna Ott; other relatives and many friends.
SERVICES
Funeral services will be 3:00P.M.,Saturday, August 11, at Bethany Lutheran Church in Spencer.
