Arnold F. Sindt

Arnold F. Sindt, the son of Fredrick Datelif Christian and Emma Marie Hansen Sindt, was born October 16, 1923, in Everly, Iowa. He received his early education and graduated from the Everly High School in 1941. Arnold married Elizabeth "Betty" Ann Norman on August 29, 1945, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Everly, Iowa. Following their marriage, they farmed the family Century Farm until retiring in 1986. Arnold was an active member of St. Mary's Catholic Church until it closed and then became a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Hartley. In his spare time, Arnold had enjoyed dancing, bowling league, playing cards and most recent, gardening. On October 31, 2009, Arnold passed away at the Community Memorial Health Center in Hartley at the age of 86. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister, Adeline. He is survived by his wife, Betty of Everly; his children: Norm Sindt and his friend, Jo Poeschel of Everly, Cynthia Feldt (Darwin) of La Vista, NE, Mary DeJager (Keith) of Yankton, SD, Roland Sindt of Everly and his friend, Linda Griffin of Spencer, Allen Sindt (Robin) of Royal, Gaylen Sindt and his friend, Shelly Peters of Fostoria, Lisa Johnson (Jay) of Hartley and Lori Schilling (Lee) of Hartley; 17 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; sister, Norma Gray of Ft. Worth, TX; other relatives and friends.
