Ashley Lynn Benson

   Ashley Lyn Benson, 20, passed away suddenly on Monday, September 13, 2021, at Sioux Center Health.  Ashley was born October 3, 2000, in Sioux City, Iowa, and later adopted by Greg and Darcy Benson on August 11, 2003.  Her elementary years were spent at Spencer Community Schools, and later graduated from MOC-FV High School in Orange City, Iowa, in 2019.

   Ashley enjoyed being outside going for walks, riding bike, working the garden, and riding horses.  When living in Orange City, she worked at Pizza Ranch and Northwestern College in the cafeteria.  In September of 2020, she moved to Sioux Center to live in an adult home with Hope Haven.  Everyone in the house grew to be a family which she enjoyed.  In Sioux Center, she worked at Dordt College in the cafeteria and enjoyed it very much.  Ashley was involved in church activities where she met many new people who she enjoyed being with.

   She was preceded in death by her grandmothers, Marlys Vanderhoff and Joan Benson.

   Left to cherish her memory are her parents, Greg and Darcy Benson; brothers:  Bryce (Mikayla) Benson of Des Moines, Iowa, Nate (Stacey) Benson of Curlew, Iowa, Blake Benson of Sheldon, Iowa; one sister, Nicole Benson of Emmetsburg, Iowa; her grandparents, aunts, uncles, several cousins and her Hope Haven family.
