Audrey Goettsche

June 14, 1925 — December 4, 2015

Audrey Jane Goettsche, the daughter of Humphrey and Clara Belle (Riley) Cox was born June 14, 1925 in rural Moorhead, IA. Her childhood years were spent in the Peterson, IA area. She graduated from Peterson High School in 1943. She attended Moorhead Business School in Moorhead, MN. Audrey worked for Standard Oil, before marrying Raymond Goettsche in Peterson, IA on September 18, 1946. They farmed in the Peterson area before moving to several different towns, including Spencer, Storm Lake, Pomeroy and Red Oak, IA. She raised her family in Red Oak, IA, and also worked as a waitress, business woman, and a care-giver. She was proud to receive awards from the Red Cross for donating blood platelets. She enjoyed visiting with people, practicing her religion, dancing and her dog, Pushy. Audrey passed away on Friday, December 4, 2015 at the Griswold Care Center in Griswold, IA at the age of 90. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and 2 brothers, Solomon and John Cox. Left to cherish her memory are her 5 children, Arvid and Dona Goettsche of Drakesville, IA, Carleton of Sauk Rapids, MN, MaryAnn and Charles Lantz of Casa Grande, CA, Kailon and Kim of Red Oak, IA, and Paula and Danny Archer of Atlantic, IA; many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Garnett "Dolly" Brown of San Diego, CA; nieces; nephews; other relatives; and many friends.
SERVICES
Funeral services will take place 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, December 9, at Warner Funeral Home in Peterson.
