IN LIEU OF FLOWERS, A MEMORIAL FUND HAS BEEN ESTABLISHED BY THE FAMILY
Barbara Rae Campbell, the daughter of Charles Roger and Shirley Mae (Masters) Marble, was born on May 11, 1946 in Spencer, Iowa. Her childhood years were in Spencer where she received her education, graduating from Spencer High School in 1964.
In 1966, Barb married John Wilbur. From this marriage came 3 children, Jeanna, Jeff, and Jen. In March of 1985, she married Burryl Campbell. Burryl and Barb purchased a house in Hartley, Iowa in 1993 and that is where she resided until her death.
Barb enjoyed many things through the years. Some of her favorites were crafting. She loved to make anything and everything. She crocheted, created projects on plastic canvas, painted ceramics, collected stamps, sewed, made candles, scrapbooked, collected Elvis memorabilia and so much more. In her later years when crafting became difficult, Barb found the internet. She took her tablet with her everywhere. She loved Facebook and Facebook Messenger and used them often to keep in touch with family and friends.
Barb passed away at Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD on Monday, August 2, 2021 at the age of 75. She was surrounded by her family and Elvis music was playing.
She was preceded in death by her parents (Charles and Shirley), her in laws (Hank, Lucy, Bill, Nancy, and Gary), her son (Jeff) and her husband of 32 years (Burryl).
She is survived by 2 daughters, Jeanna (Andy) Wichert of Altoona, Iowa and Jen (Rick) Mitchell of Sioux City, Iowa. She also has 8 grandchildren (honorary bearers) who will miss her dearly. Other notable survivors include her brother Darrell (Barb), brother-in-law Bob (Kay), brother-in-law Jim (Colleen), and the man who will always be her son-in-law, Gary (Nancy) Richter.
