Beth Darlene Bohrns

Beth Darlene Bohrns, the daughter of David and Jeannie Pollock Johnson, was born January 31, 1925 in Haydock, Iowa. Her childhood years were spent in Chariton, where she received her education. Beth continued her education at St Francis Hospital in Peoria, IL where she earned a degree as a Registered Nurse. Beth married Ivan 'Bud' Edward Bohrns on April 27, 1951 in Des Moines, Iowa. Following their marriage, they moved to Spencer, where she worked for Dr. King and Dr. Edington for 32 years. Most recently, Beth worked for Exam Management Services. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Spencer, where she was active in the Woman's Circle group, along with being Parish Nurse and in Widows Group. In her spare time, Beth enjoyed reading. Beth passed away at St. Luke Lutheran Home on November 14, 2016 at the age of 91. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ivan on December 5, 1995; her brother, Dwight Johnson; two sisters: Delores Hornocker and Bonnie Johnson and nephew, Chris Hornocker. She is survived by her nieces and nephews: Darcy Powers and Stacy Powers of Minneapolis, MN, Rita Hill and Greg Sandvig of Des Moines, IA and David Hornocker of Cedar Rapids, IA; great nieces and nephew: Jeanette Consolver, Jennifer (George) Sotomayor and David (Sharon) Hills; sister-in-law, Phyllis (Tom) Powers of Hartley, IA; other relatives and friends.
SERVICES
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Thursday, November 17, 2016 at Warner Chapel in Spencer.
