IN LIEU OF FLOWERS A MEMORIAL FUND HAS BEEN ESTABLISHED BY THE FAMILY.
Betty Ann Hurt Krile, daughter of Arthur Allen and Harriet "Hattie" Hurt, was born January 3, 1936 in Spencer. She lived in the Dickens and Spencer areas, graduating from Spencer High School in 1953.
She married Harold Blaine Krile on January 1, 1955. The Kriles purchased property in 1978, building the Krile Buildings in North Spencer. Betty became Manager of Operator Services for Northwestern Bell, transferred to Des Moines as AT&T Supervisory Staff in 1980, and retired in 1989. Returning to Spencer in 1994, they pursued their business of office rentals.
Betty accepted Christ as her Savior in 1952, and was an active member of First Baptist Church in Spencer, serving in many capacities for missions, Bible teaching, flowers and choir for many years. She was a member of Telephone Pioneers, World Organization of China Painters, and Garden Club of Clay County.
An avid reader, Betty also enjoyed sewing, cooking, baking and handcrafts. She treasured time with her children and grandchildren; her greatest desire was that they know the joy of fellowship with the Lord. She and beloved Harold await them in heaven.
Betty went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at the age of 81. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harold in 2011; and two sisters. Left to cherish her memory are son Shawn (Minneapolis, MN); daughter Kelley (David) Robbins (Winfield, IL); grandchildren Kevin, Patrick & Christopher Krile, Aidan & Anne Robbins; brother Oschar "Ozzie" (Carol) Hurt (Banning, CA); brother-in-law, Robert (Sharon) Krile; nieces, nephews; other relatives and many friends.
