Betty Barbara (Bang) Dailey, the daughter of Harold and Asta (Miller) Bang, was born July 10, 1931 in Spencer, Iowa. She was christened and confirmed at Bethany Lutheran Church. She received her education in Spencer and graduated from Spencer High School in 1949.
Betty was married at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Berkeley, California, in 1949 to Bill E. Dailey of Spencer. The couple continued to live in various cities throughout California while Mr. Dailey served in the U.S. Navy from 1943 to 1966. When he retired from the military, the family returned to Spencer in 1967.
Although the couple remained lifelong friends, they divorced in 1976. Betty returned to California, living in "Silicon Valley" from 1977 to 1986, before moving to Colorado Springs, CO, from 1986 to 1990, when she returned to Spencer.
Betty was an accomplished artist, recognized by those who knew her for her many creative skills. She firmly believed that a smile or laughter everyday was essential to one's well being. She also enjoyed doing yardwork, raising flowers, feeding birds and spending time with her family.
She is survived by two daughters, Andrea Dailey of Spencer and Darcy and her husband, Dave Eich of Sheldon, two grandchildren, Colton and Amy Eich of Sheldon, her brother, Jon Bang and his wife, Judy of Peterson, and beloved nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, an older brother, Harold, and her only son, Mark, in 2005.
