Betty Jane Enger, the daughter of Henry Alfred and Edna Mani Bacher Fritzsche, was born on January 29, 1922 in Burlington, Iowa. Betty received her early education in Burlington and graduated from the Burlington High School in 1940.
Betty married Paul Walter Enger on September 6, 1942 in Burlington, Iowa. Following their marriage, they moved to St. Paul, MN where they lived for 3 years. In 1948, they moved to Spencer, Iowa. She was a very active member of the First Congregational Church, where she sang in the church choir for many years and held many offices. She was also a member of P.E.O. Betty enjoyed golfing, she even had a "hole in one", she also enjoyed playing bridge, dancing, traveling with her husband Paul, but she especially enjoyed her children and grandchildren.
Betty passed away at the Spencer Hospital on Thursday, June 14, 2007 at the age of 85. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Paul on April 21, 2006; one sister, Mildred Hawkens; one brother, Bud Fritzsche.
She is survived by her three sons: Ronald and his wife, Nancy Enger of Medford, OR, Christopher and his wife, Natalie Enger of Wayzata, MN and Gregg Enger of Plymouth, MN; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
SERVICES
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 P.M., Tuesday, June 19, 2007, at First Congregational Church in Spencer, Iowa.
