Betty Lou Sweet

Betty Lou was born July 16, 1932 in Arnolds Park, Iowa. She was the only child to Bessie E. and Elmer W. Riemer. She attended school in Arnolds Park, graduating from Arnolds Park High School in 1950. Betty was married to John A. Anderson in 1950. They made their home outside of the Terril-Milford area. Together they had three children Linda, Sharon, and Steven. Betty was also married to William J. Sweet and lived in Spencer raising two children Lori and Randel. Betty made her home in Spencer where she worked as a teacher's aide, housekeeper, and a dietary worker. Betty retired from Longhouse Nursing Home after 25 years of service. Betty enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and sewing. She was an excellent seamstress and often made her children's clothes, she also enjoyed making quilts for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She took pleasure in listening to Johnny Cash, Bruce Springsteen, and attending concerts at the Clay County Fair. Betty loved her cats and dogs and watching birds outside her window. Betty Lou Sweet passed away Sunday, April 8th, at the age of 79. Betty is preceded in death by her parents Bessie and Elmer Riemer. Left to cherish her memory are her five children Linda Cushing and her husband Tom of Langdon, Sharon Matthews and her husband Leo of Spencer, Steven Anderson and his wife Dot of Winston-Salem, Lori Oviatt of Spencer, and Randel Sweet of Spencer. Loved by all her fourteen grandchildren: Mark Verner of Sioux Falls, Karla Carstensen of Spencer, Kari Riordan of Mason City, Carman Johannsen of Sioux Falls, Audrey Kvidahl of Cedar Rapids, Michele Hofmeyer of Sioux Falls, Philip Oviatt of Spencer, Ben Anderson of Winston Salem, Leah Stephens of Spencer, Rebecca Curtis of Greensboro, Rachel Mitchell of Bellevue, Amie Dautremont of Scottsdale, Katie Cook of Spencer, Emilie Oviatt of Spencer, and thirteen great grandchildren which she adored.
SERVICES
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, April 11, at the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints in Spencer.

VISITATION
Visitation will be open after 4:00 P.M., Tuesday, April 10, at the Warner Funeral Home in Spencer. Family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday from 12:30 P.M. until the time of service.
