Betty Louise Rienfeld

Betty Louise Rienfeld, the daughter of Wilhelm and Catherine (Hansen) Rahbusch, was born on December 2, 1932, in Sutherland, IA. She attended Sutherland High School until her sophomore year, when she became a nanny. She also worked at the Hub Hotel in Primghar. On July 9, 1950, she married Myrl Rienfeld. Following their marriage, she started working Mental Health Institute in Cherokee in 1953. She resigned in 1976 after 23 years. Betty moved to California. She worked at the Pacific State Hospital in Pomona and the Napa State Hospital in Napa as a Psychiatric Technician. She retired in August of 1994 after working over 40 years, caring for mentally ill patients. Betty moved to Kapaa, HI, in her retirement to be with her daughter, Jeanette. She enjoyed traveling to Iowa to visit family and spending time with her grandchildren. She also loved to spend time on the beach in Hawaii relaxing and visiting. Her favorite pastimes were drinking coffee and watching the Young and the Restless. She passed away on October 12, 2014, at the Sutherland Care Center at the age 81. She is preceded in death by her parents; 3 sisters: Christine, Ella and Magdalina and 3 brothers: Tom, John and William. Left to cherish her memory are her 2 daughters: Jeanette Smith of Kapaa, HI and Jacquelyn (Kenny) Ray of Washta, IA; one son, Rodney (Jayme) Rienfeld of Pflugerville, TX; 6 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; her 2 brothers: Herman (Glenda) Rahbusch and Harry (Gloria) Rahbusch; 3 sisters: Marianne Lenhart, Marga Wede and Ruth Durant; other relatives and friends.
