Betty Menke

Betty Lou Kramer Menke of Spencer, IA was born to Vena Hopfe and Albert Kramer on February 8, 1931 in Everly, IA. Betty attended a country school west of Spencer, through 8th grade, then attended Everly High School, where she graduated in 1949. She had 6 children, Glennis (Kent) Halverson of Alta, Michael (Brian Schmidt) of Brandt, SD, Rickey (Denise) of Churdan, Bobbie Jr. (Jeff Smith) of Ellsworth, WI, and Jerry (Donneta) of Spencer and Sherry (Jen) of George. Betty had 10 grandchildren, Tara (Matt), Garrett, Melissa (Luke), Cody, Miranda, Mackenzie, Ali, Larisa, Austin and Nathan, along with three great grandchildren: Ryan, Maddie and Blake. Betty had multiple jobs during her lifetime. She ran a restaurant with her son, Mike. She also worked at A & M Laundry, the Villager, South Clay Schools and Hartley Pack. Betty spent many hours doing what she loved, embroidery, garage sales, bingo, taking grandchildren to horse shows, making her famous potato salad and spending time with loved ones. Things like sitting on the deck with her sister, playing games with her grandchildren, or fishing with the family. Surviving Betty are her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, three brothers: Verlyn (Florence) Kramer of Fostoria, Gary (Vicki) Kramer of Iowa Falls and Terry (Judy) Kramer of Milford; one sister, Glenda (Don) Peterson of Spencer; one sister-in-law, Shirley Kramer of Spencer; along with many nieces and nephews. Preceding Betty in death were her parents, Vena and Albert Kramer, one infant brother, Lyle, one sister, Lila Pooler and one brother, Larry Kramer.
SERVICES
Funeral services will take place 2:00 P.M., Friday, May 16, at Faith Pentecostal Church in Spencer.

VISITATION
Visitation will take place Thursday, May 15, at Warner Funeral Home in Spencer, starting at 5:00 P.M., with family present from 5-7:00 P.M.
