Betty Ruth Beal, the daughter of Ersel and Myrtle (Waters) Curry, was born February 25, 1935, in Aurora, IL. Her childhood years were spent in Aurora where she received her education.
Betty married David Beal on December 8, 1951, at the Aurora Free Methodist Church. Following their marriage, they moved to Spencer, IA, where she spent her early years as a stay at home mother and raised her children. After her children had grown, Betty worked as a nurse aide for 10 years and later as a ward clerk for four years, all at St. Luke Lutheran Home in Spencer. She also worked at Longhouse Residence in Spencer. Betty was a member of Spencer Family Church. She enjoyed going out to coffee with her friends and raising her family. Betty especially enjoyed her Sunday drives with her husband.
Betty passed away at the Spencer Hospital in Spencer, IA on Saturday, July 12, 2014, at the age of 79. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers and sisters: Ruby, Dolly, Harry and Ivan.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, David Beal of Spencer; her children: David, Jr. (Julie) Beal of Paw Paw, IL, Mike (Patty) Beal of Iowa City, IA, Deb (Bill) Muller of Spencer, IA, Garry Beal (Letty McCarthy) of Laurens, IA and Monty (Lisa) Beal of Coralville, IA; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; one brother, John Curry of Oswego, IL; one sister, Mary Clarke of Batavia, IL; other relatives and friends.
SERVICES
Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at the Spencer Family Church in Spencer.
