Beulah LaVonne Singelstad, the daughter of William and Altha (Messerly) Carroll, was born on September 2, 1924 in Fort Dodge, Iowa. She was raised and received her early education there, graduating from Fort Dodge High School. Following graduation, she worked at Boston's Department Store.
On May 12, 1946, Beulah married Ernest Singelstad in Fort Dodge, Iowa. The couple then moved to Spencer, where she was a homemaker and raised her family. She did go back to work later, working at National Spencer for 8 years and then in 1973 they moved to Terril where she was a cook at the Terril Schools for 17 years. She moved back to Spencer in 2004 after Ernest passed away.
Beulah was a longtime faithful member of Immanuel Lutheran Church where she also was a member of the Ladies Circle. She was a member of the Booster and Alpha Clubs of Terril. She loved to visit with friends and entertain. She always had lunch ready. She loved spending time with her family, especially playing and holding her grandkids and great grandkids.
She passed away on May 4, at the Hanson Hospice House in Stevensville, MI, surrounded by her family, she was 92. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ernest; one brother, Clyde; two sisters: Virginia in infancy and Erma Chantland and her husband, Arthur; son-in-law, Craig Freeman and her niece, Karen Farrand.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters: JoAnne Harders (Ervin) of Hartley, IA; Joyce Freeman of Stevensville, MI, Jolene Lang (Douglas) of Benson, MN and Julie Angus (Thomas) of Burt, IA; 10 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; her 3 nieces; other relatives and friends.
SERVICES
Funeral Services will be 10:30 A.M., Friday, May 12, at the the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Terril.

Visitation will begin after 4:00P.M., Thursday, with the family present from 5:00 - 7:00P.M., Thursday evening at the funeral home in Spencer.
