It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beautiful Mom, Beverly Jean Andis who left us on January 25, 2025, at the age of 83. A cherished Mother, Nana and friend, she was a shining light in the lives of all who knew her. Born on June 11, 1942 in Spencer, Iowa, Mom dedicated her life to Jesus with her family a close second.
On June 26th, 1960, she married her best friend, biggest supporter and each other’s better half, our Dad, Alvin. Mom’s home was a sanctuary filled with laughter, warmth, and unconditional love. Through her homemade meals, her sage advice, and her unforgettable phrase, “Happy Thoughts!”, throwing her head back in joyful silent laughter with her arms crossed in front of her, she created a space where everyone felt welcomed and cherished. Family fed Mom’s soul. She and Dad had us but she also had her Spencer Community family along with her Grace United Methodist Church family where she actively served. Her caring spirit and her ability to make every occasion special will be deeply missed. Our Mom passed peacefully at St Luke’s Nursing Home with Dad beside her. She is survived by her sidekick, Alvin Grant Andis, her children; Deborah Andis, Julie Andis Selby and Bill and Laurie Wagner. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren: Beau Newcomb, Casaundra Newcomb, Christian (Trisha) Selby, Reid Selby, Annie Selby, Wesley (Bekah) Wagner, Dustin (Keisha) Wagner, her 10 great grandchildren Logan, Boston, Karissa, Jaylen, Solomon, Khloe, Ree, Jax, Chesney and Kaisley. Rest in peace, sweet Mama. Your legacy will forever live on in the hearts of everyone whose lives you touched, especially your children. All cards and condolences can be mailed to their home: 314 7th Street SW, Spencer, IA 51301. We’ve got this! Deb, Julie and Laurie
