Beverly Mae (Zahrt) Jeppeson was born February 25, 1931 to Fred William and Rachel (Roberts) Zahrt in Rossie, Iowa. Beverly graduated from Greenville-Rossie High School in 1948, where she was actively involved in all sports and musical activities during her high school years. Beverly showed a love for dance and music early in her life. She sang and tap-danced professionally at the early age of five years old.
Beverly met the love of her life, Merl Jeppeson, at a high school music contest. After spending one year at the University of Northern Iowa, Merl and Beverly were married on September 18, 1949 in Sioux Rapids, IA. Beverly and Merl lived their married life near Rossie where they farmed. Along with helping with the farming, Beverly earned a degree in Elementary Education from Buena Vista College in 1968 and a Masters in Educational Administration from Drake University in 1986. She taught and made a difference in the lives of elementary students for 42 years in the Clay Central-Everly School District. Beverly was a member of the United Methodist Church in Spencer, IA. Professionally, she was active in NEA, ISEA and 4-H leadership. After Merl's death, Beverly moved to Spencer, IA. In her retirement, she loved spending time with her family and friends golfing, boating and sipping coffee at her cottage on West Lake Okoboji.
Beverly passed away peacefully at Longhouse Residence in Spencer on October 13, 2014 at the age of 83 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Merl Duane Jeppeson in 1980 and an infant son, Lonnie Duane Jeppeson. Also, four brothers and one sister: Fred Zahrt, Jr., Darwin Zahrt, Roger Zahrt, Gary Zahrt and Suzanne Edington.
Beverly was a wonderful sister, mother and grandmother and left to cherish her memory are her four daughters and their spouses: Zona (Michael) Beck of Tucson, AZ, Kaylene (Daniel) Kinlen of Spirit Lake, IA, Javotte (Allen) McCarty of Linn Grove, IA, and ZoeAnn (Jeff) Roberts of Primghar, IA; 10 grandchildren: Chase & Carter Beck, Sharee & Justin Kinlen, Allie (Kyle) Fletcher, Morgan, Evan & Josie McCarty and Aphton & Zane Roberts; great grandchild, Odin Behrens and her sister, Sandra (Jim) Dotson of Wahpeton.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Thursday, October 16, 2014 at Grace United Methodist Church in Spencer.
