Blanche May Elliott, the daughter of William and Eleanora Skinner, was born February 20, 1920, in Coulterville, IL. Following the death of her mother at age five, her family moved to Linn Grove, IA, and eventually Spencer where she received her education.
On April 9, 1939, Blanche was united in marriage to Lowell Elliott in Papillion, NE. Following their marriage they lived in Everly, Spencer, and Royal before moving to Arnold's Park, IA. Blanche worked for Berkley Fishing Company in Spirit Lake for many years. Following their retirement they moved to Yreka, CA, where they spent 14 years. They returned to Milford for a short time before moving back to Spencer in 1998.
In her free time Blanche enjoyed sewing, quilting, embroidery, and enjoyed cooking and canning vegetables, but most of all she loved being around her family in which she had several five generation families.
On November 16, 2007, Blanche passed away at St. Luke Lutheran Home in Spencer, IA, at the age of 87. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Howard Skinner, and his wife Dorothy; and one daughter, Jeanine Reed.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Lowell Elliott of Spencer, IA; three daughters: Joyce (Gene) Hall of Dickens, IA, Jennafer (Robert) Petersen of Okoboji, IA, and Jerree (Ross) Orr of Hornbrook, CA; several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; & other relatives and friends.
SERVICES
Graveside Memmorial Services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, November 20, 2007, at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Spirit Lake, Iowa.
