Brian Jon Heisler, the son of James and Beverly Alger Heisler, was born July 4, 1969 in Estherville, IA. He received his early education in Ruthven and was confirmed at the Zion Lutheran Church in Ruthven. Brian graduated from South Clay High School in 1987 where he was the Homecoming King, played football, track, and basketball. He then enlisted with the United States Army, served during Desert Storm and was stationed in Germany for three years.
On April 25, 1992, he was united in marriage to Toni Eriksen at Trinity United Methodist Church in Webb. Following their marriage, they lived in Estherville where he earned an Associates Degree from Iowa Lakes Community College. Then they lived in Mankato, MN and in 1996 moved to Ruthven and in 2002 to their acreage in Emmetsburg. Brian was employed with SkyJack and IEI. He then returned to Iowa Lakes Community College and earned a degree in Conservation. For the past three years, Brian has been working for Nolin Milling. Brian's greatest love was spending time with his family going camping, hunting and fishing. He also loved riding his horses for the Pony Express in local parades and sitting around the fire ring at home on summer nights.
Brian passed away at the Spencer Hospital on February 12, 2014 at the age of 44. He is preceded in death by his grandparents and his father-in-law, Steve Eriksen.
He is survived by his wife, Toni of Emmetsburg, IA; daughters Megan and Madison; his parents: Jim and Beverly Heisler of Webb, IA; his sisters: Michelle (Bob) Gibson of Webb, IA Melissa (Alfredo) Merida of Linn Grove, IA and Jennifer (Karl) Laursen of Peterson, IA; mother-in-law, Shirley Eriksen of Webb, IA; other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, February 17, 2014 at Grace United Methodist Church in Spencer.
