Brian Lee Burger

Brian Lee Burger, the son of Roy and Genevieve Dyer Burger, was born September 7, 1958 in Spencer, Iowa. His childhood years were spent in Gillett Grove, where he received his education, later graduating from Webb Consolidated School in 1977. After his schooling, he remained in Clay County, where he worked at manufacturing plants in Emmetsburg and Laurens, before moving to Michigan in the mid 1980's. Brian married Lorraine Brodersen on September 2, 1990 in Spencer, Iowa. He established a successful business, specializing in vehicle accenting and window cleaning, while in Michigan. In 1996, he returned to Iowa to help with his ailing father. In 1997, he was involved in a life changing accident. Brian passed away at the Spencer Hospital in Spencer, Iowa on Friday, July 6, 2007 at the age of 48. He was preceded in death by his father. He is survived by his wife, Lorraine Burger of Milan, Michigan; his mother, Genevieve Burger of Gillett Grove, IA; three daughters: Kimberly Voelker of Clio, Michigan, Kayma and her husband, Kris Kierczak of Milan, Michigan and Danae Mis of Clio, Michigan; a stepdaughter, Janelle Peterson of Milan, Michigan; a stepson, Theron Brodersen of Spencer, IA; 12 grandchildren; three sisters: Judy and her husband, Lannie Bevers of Gillett Grove, IA, Gloria and her husband, Hardie Ball of Sioux Rapids, IA and Vicki Weisbrod of Dickens, IA; three brothers: Harley and his wife, Dorothy Burger of Gillett Grove, IA, Carl and his wife, Jody Burger of Laurens, IA and Gary Burger of Yankton, SD; other relatives and many friends.
