Brian Rustan Hoover

March 30, 1977 — February 9, 2010

Brian Rustan Hoover, the son of Don (Rusty) and Jan Randeris Hoover was born in Spencer, IA on March 30th, 1977. Brian grew up in the Webb area and attended South Clay Community Schools during his elementary and junior high years. Brian graduated from Sioux Central Community Schools and continued his education at Iowa Lakes Community College where he graduated with an Associates Degree in Farm Equipment Mechanics. Brian truly enjoyed his profession as a farm equipment mechanic, working at Spencer Diesel, Spencer International and most recently at Laurens Equipment. Outside of work Brian loved being a "cowboy", riding horses and bull riding at rodeos. Brian also enjoyed collecting and working on antique Hart Parr tractors and antique stationary engines with his Dad. In 2006, Brian met the love of his life and companion Jen Wegner. The two of them enjoyed rodeos, fishing, camping and snowmobiling. Brian and Jen also enjoyed participating in several antique tractor and gas engine shows with his Dad during the summer months. Brian passed away suddenly in a car accident on February 9th, 2010. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Donald and Betty Hoover of Webb and Harold Randeris of Audubon. Left to cherish his memories are his parents, Don and Jan Hoover of Webb; his girlfriend, Jen Wegner and her children, Jessica and Jake of Estherville; his sister, Valarie Hollesen and husband, Ben of Sioux Rapids; his brother, Greg Hoover of Spencer; his nephew, Sawyer Hollesen of Sioux Rapids; his grandma, Dorothy Randeris of Audubon; his aunts and uncles: Steve & Becky Randeris and Roger and Patrice Randeris all of Audubon, Tom & Jayne Hoover of Mallard and Jane Swanson of Issaquah, WA; many cousins, relatives and friends. The Rodeo Cowboy Prayer Our Gracious and Heavenly Fathers, We pause mindful and thoughtful of the guidance that you have given us. We would ask today, Lord, that you be with us in the rodeo arena as we pray you will be also with us in life's arena. As cowboys, Lord, we don't ask for special favors in this arena today. We only ask that you will let us compete in this event, and in life, as you did for us. We don't ask that we never break a barrier, draw the steer that won't lay, draw around a chute fighting horse, or a bull that is impossible to ride. Help us to complete in life as honest as the horse we ride; in manner as clean and pure as the wind that blows across this great land of ours; so when we make that last ride that we know is inevitable, to the country up there...where the grass is green and lush and stirrup-high and the water runs clean and clear; you will tell us as we ride in , as our last judge, that our entry fee's are paid. These things we ask-Amen
