Bruce Alan Fick, the son of Norman and Ruth (Ficken) Fick, was born December 6, 1960 in Spencer, Iowa. His childhood years were spent in Spencer, where he received his education, graduating from Spencer High School in 1979. Following his schooling, he entered the military and served with the U.S. Air Force until his discharge.
Bruce was proud of his work as a long haul truck driver and stayed steady on the road with his truck driving with his dog always by his side. He had accomplished his goal of traveling to all 50 states through the military and through his work. Bruce had most recently operated his own lawn care business. He had a passion for motorcycles and loved riding when he had an opportunity to do so.
He passed away at Longhouse Residence in Spencer, Iowa on Sunday, November 10, 2013 at the age of 52. Bruce was preceded in death by his father; his grandparents: Oliver and Lois Ficken and his aunt, Mary Reick.
Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Ruth Fick of Spencer; two brothers: Brad Fick and his partner Leo Zaback III of Minneapolis, MN and Kevin Fick and his wife, Marcia of San Francisco, CA; one half brother, Tom Kracht and his wife, Brenda of Centerville, IA; other relatives and friends.
SERVICES
Memorial services will be held 1:30 P.M., Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at the Grace United Methodist Church in Spencer.
