Bruce Edward Haht, the son of Henry and Kathryn (Noethe) Haht, was born October 13, 1951 in Primghar, Iowa. His childhood years were spent in Sutherland where he received his education, graduating from Sutherland High School.
Bruce married Micki Anderson on October 16, 1970, in Sutherland. After their marriage, they moved to Calumet and Bruce worked for Micki's dad driving truck. He later drove truck for GCC Ready Mix for many years until his retirement in 2009. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cards, and spending time with his grandkids, taking them fishing and shooting BB guns.
He passed away at his home in Calumet following a long illness on Thursday, November 12, 2015 at the age of 64. Bruce was preceded in death by his grandparents.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Micki of Calumet; two daughters: Shawn (Jeff) of Lincoln, NE, and Jess (Kate) of Ogden, IA; five grandchildren: Kaare, Carson, DeLana, Paige and Calvin; his parents of Sutherland, IA; brothers and sisters: Linda (Sonny) Tewes of Hartley, Wayne (Sandy) Haht of Spirit Lake, Jim (Alice) Haht of Sutherland, Susan (Denny) Hinspeter of Sutherland and Diane (Tyler) Sechler of Calumet; other relatives and many friends.
SERVICES
Memorial Services will be 2:00 P.M., Monday, November 16, at the Warner Chapel in Spencer.
There will be refreshments served in the BenTena Room at the Grace United Methodist Church in Spencer following the service.
