Bruce Neil Prentice, the son of John and Bernice Brinkley Prentice, was born January 5, 1936 in Clay County, Iowa. He received his early education and graduated from Gillett Grove High School.
On January 8, 1956, Bruce married Shirley Carlson at the Grace United Methodist Church in Spencer. Following their marriage, they lived in Royal, Iowa where they owned and operated Prentice Backhoe. Bruce was a member of the Royal Methodist Church, Lions Club, Great Lakes Fishing Club and Two Cylinder Club. In his spare time, Bruce enjoyed camping and fishing with his family, winters in Texas with Shirley, playing cards and visiting his family.
On March 4, 2018, Bruce passed away at the Lakes Region Healthcare in Spirit Lake at the age of 82. He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Jean Jackson; brother-in-law, Francis Jackson and his great granddaughter.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley of Milford, IA; two sons: Jerry (Tammy) Prentice of Brainerd, MN and Danny (LeAnn) Prentice of Denver, CO; two daughters: Cindy (Steve) Rondou of Waunakee, WI and Becky (Bill) Samborski of Brighton, CO; 6 grandchildren: Charles (Melissa) Prentice, Stacy (Patrick) Moya, Mathew (Julia) Prentice, Cassie Prentice, Will (Kelly) Samborski and Tristan Rondou; 6 great grandchildren; his brother, Mike (Trish) Prentice of Austin, TX, sister, Kathy Prentice of Spirit Lake, IA; his beloved dog, Rambo; other relatives and many friends.
