Burdette 'Bud' Lorenzen

Burdette "Bud" Francis Lorenzen, the son of Francis and Lillian Klinker Lorenzen was born October 13, 1934. His early years were spent in the Moneta, Everly and Montgomery areas. Bud graduated from the Spirit Lake High School in 1953. On March 7, 1954, Bud married Marjorie Helmers at the Grace United Methodist Church in Spencer, Iowa. To this union, four children were born: Ann, Jim, Mary and Susan. His goal in life was to be in business for 50 years, which he did achieve on April 1, 2010. He enjoyed life with his wife, Marge of 56 years, his children, grandchildren and all his friends and customers through the years. He was a member of the Board of Adjustments for 27 years and also was a retired Spencer Volunteer Fireman. Bud passed away on May 3, 2010 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, MN at the age of 75. He is preceded in death by his father, Francis Lorenzen; step-father, Harold Harjes; his father and mother-in-law, Herman and Lillie Helmers; two daughters, Mary Kay Youde and infant daughter, Susan Lorenzen and brother-in-law, Richard Helmers. He is survived by his wife, Marge; daughter Ann (Jim) Warburton of Milford, IA; son Jim (Suze) Lorenzen of Spencer, IA; grandsons: Michael and David Warburton both of Milford, IA; step-grandsons: Jason (Kristie) Goodchild of Brownsville, TX and Justin Goodchild of Iowa City, IA; his mother, Lillian Harjes of Spencer, IA; 2 brothers: Darrell and Donald of Arizona; sister-in-law, Marilyn Helmers of LeMars, IA; many nieces, nephews and friends.
