Burryl Eugene Campbell, of Hartley, Iowa, was born at home on September 29, 1946 in Emmetsburg, Iowa to Henry and Lucille (Sweet) Campbell. He passed away surrounded by his family on March 15, 2017 under hospice care at the Community Memorial Health Center in Hartley. Burryl entered the Army in 1965. During his service to his country, he earned his GED. Burryl's main vocation throughout his working years was as an over the road truck driver.
In March of 1985, he married Barb Wilbur. They lived in Spencer until 1993, when they purchased their home in Hartley. In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, pool, bowling, golf and darts. As an older man, he enjoyed his grandkids, bird watching, tinkering in his garage, and visiting with neighbors. He was an avid western book reader and recently discovered Facebook. Burryl always gave his time to help a friend or neighbor. His garage was dubbed 'Campbell's Hardware Store'. If you needed something, Burryl usually had it in the garage. Unfortunately 'Campbell's Hardware Store' is now closed.
Preceding Burryl in death are his infant twins: Amy & Andy; his parents; a brother, William Campbell; a sister, Nancy Morisch; a stepson, Jeff Wilbur; and his in-laws, Charles & Shirley Marble.
Surviving him are his wife, Barb of Hartley; three brothers: Bob (Kay) of Sturgis, SD, Gary of Elk Point, SD and Jim of Spirit Lake; two stepdaughters: Jeanna Richter (Andy Wichert) of Altoona and Jen Nelson of Hartley; one brother-in-law, Darrell Marble (Barb LaCour) of Hartley; six grandchildren: Chance & Kaci Richter, Alex Wilbur, and Paige, Kaylee & Jacob Nelson and many friends and family.
