Carol Elizabeth Meyer

Carol Elizabeth Meyer, the daughter of Earl and Norma (Newby) Kraft, was born March 27, 1941 in Spencer, Iowa. Her childhood years were spent in the Greeville-Rossie, Iowa area, where she received her early education, then attending the last graduating class from Cornell High School in 1959.

 

Carol moved to Spencer, Iowa in 1959, where she made her home and worked. She worked for the Superintendent of Schools, The Spencer Hospital, Moore Medical Service of Spencer, worked doing bookkeeping jobs for many local small businesses, and as a bookkeeper for Rohlin Construction for 30 years until her retirement. She was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Spencer.

 

She passed away at her home in Spencer on Thursday, December 2, 2021 at the age of 80. Carol was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Donna Armstrong, both brothers, Robert and Richard Kraft, and a brother-in-law, Virgil Spiess

 

Carol is survived by her daughter, Amy Meyer of Spencer; other children, Teri (David) Kathman of Everly, Sherrill (David) Herke of Estherville, step-children; Dale (Kay) Meyer, Spencer, JoLynn (Randy) Carlson of Ames; two siblings: Doris Bryant of Humboldt and Dorothy Spiess of Aurora, Colorado; many grandchildren, several nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.

 

SERVICES

Graveside Services will be held at 10:30a.m., Saturday, June 25, 2022, at Northlawn Memorial Park in Spencer.

The family requests no flowers.
