Carol Kae Lake

April 22, 1921 — December 22, 2007

Carol Kae Lake, the daughter of Leslie and Sadie Waters Jones, was born April 22, 1921 in Everly, Iowa. Her childhood years were spent in the Spencer area, where she received her education, graduating from Spencer High School. Carol married Gerald LeRoy Lake on April 2, 1941 in Spencer, Iowa. Following their marriage, they continued to live in the Spencer area, where she worked as a homemaker and raised her family. She was an active member of the First Christian Church and was the church's longest living member. Carol was also involved with the Spencer Hospital Auxiliary, was a past 4-H Leader and enjoyed handiwork. Mrs. Lake passed away suddenly on Saturday, December 22, 2007 at the age of 86. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gerald on April 4, 1988; one son, Richard; a sister, Cleone Fischer and her husband, Ralph and a sister-in-law, Katherine Jones. Left to cherish her memory are two daughters: Linda Hagerdon of Denver, Colorado and Patty and her husband, Clinton Jones of Spencer; one son, Steven Lake and his wife, Jane of Spencer, Iowa; 9 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; a brother, M. Dale Jones of Spencer, Iowa; other relatives and many friends.

SERVICES

Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M., Thursday, December 27, 2007 at the First Christian Church in Spencer.

VISITATION

Visitation will begin 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, December 26, 2007 with the family present from 6 to 7:30 P.M., Wednesday Evening at the Warner Funeral Home in Spencer.

INTERMENT

North Lawn Memorial Park Spencer, Iowa A time of lunch and fellowship will be held immmediately following the funeral services at the church. Graveside services will be held 1:00 P.M. at the cemetery
