Carolyn Sue O'Hara

Carolyn Sue Walton was born on October 7, 1941 in Mountain Home, Arkansas to Mervin “Jim” and Hazel Morris Walton. Her family moved to Everly, Iowa where she graduated from Everly High School in 1959.

 On December 6, 1969, Carolyn married Bob O’Hara. They made their home in Spencer, Iowa. Carolyn was a hard worker who enjoyed working with the public throughout her life. She took great pride in her job as an optometric assistant working for Dr. Hooven, Dr. Chapman and Dr. Gordy.

 Carolyn lived an active life, participating in golf and bowling with her family and friends. On the golf course she was known for her smooth, easy swing. She took great joy in her grandchildren. She always made time to attend their many concerts, programs and sporting events.

 Carolyn passed away peacefully surrounded by her children on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at the age of 76. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Jim and her husband Bob.

 Carolyn is survived by her children, Tim (Nina) O’Hara and Angela (Scott) Merchant, her grandchildren, April, Jerra, Brynn and Alicia, her sister Beth (Steve) Berends and many family and friends. 

SERVICES
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, February 15 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Spencer.
